When I gave my friend Beth this drawing for her Mammaw Stowers’ Rum cake recipe, she laughed and said, ” Mammaw loved to wear her jewelry”. She said she thought her Mammaw might have had some earrings like the ones this little mouse is wearing. She also said that her Mammaw was an incredible cook and loved to host. She said, “We went to her house every Sunday after church until she passed away. All of my aunts, and cousins would be there. She would have a buffet full of wonderful meats, sides and desserts. She was generous and kind and had an incredible sense of humor.”
I may not have had the pleasure of knowing this special lady, but I think all of us who know and love Beth Piper would say that Mrs. Stowers’ memory lives on through her granddaughter. What a beautiful legacy!
