This recipe was my mother’s. I think she found it, back in the ’70s, on a package of stone ground corn meal. Mama loved to cook and Daddy loved to eat! He loved a big, “Sundee lunch” which often included spoon bread. I love how food can take us back in time and bring back good memories of the people we enjoyed it with. Some of my best childhood memories were around the table with family and friends eating one of my Mama’s meals and laughing our heads off while Daddy told some crazy story! I can make spoon bread and somehow be back at their table.
